Parts Clerk

Basic Functions:

Responsibilities include inventory control, monitors the parts inventory and anticipates parts and suggested stock orders. Is responsible for the security of inventory and for analyzing the quality of parts. Works with retail and wholesalers and must time inventory purchases.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • -Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with wholesalers and retailers
  • -Ability to maintain proper parts inventory levels and to do proper posting
  • -Ability to utilize computers and computer capabilities for inventory, recordkeeping, parts information, etc
  • -Knowledge of automotive systems
  • -Ability to establish and control inventory system
  • -Knowledge of and ability to interpret inventory reports
  • -Knowledge of parts pricing procedures

  • -2+ years experience desired
  • -Experience with Dossier Systems or other fleet/inventory management systems – preferred
  • -Strong detail-orientation skills
  • -Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • -Working knowledge of automotive systems in general   

Work Environment:

The Parts Clerk must be able to work in a garage environment that may be drafty and noisy with exposure to confined work spaces, heights, slippery surfaces, electrical hazards, dust, and possible contact with toxic substances or chemical irritants.
